THE REJECTED VESSEL (Par t 3)
Text: 1 Samuel 15
INTRODUCTION:
In the last part of this series, we learnt that no one could be wiser
than God and that partial obedience is dangerous.
Today, as we continue in our studies, may the Lord Himself speak
to us and bless us richly in Jesus Name.
1. THE VAIN SACRIFICE
The sacrifice truly offered unto God is a blessing but when offered in
disobedience and unrighteousness, it becomes vain and
unacceptable before God.
I Sam. 15:18-22, Isa. 1:11-13, Jer. 7:22-23, Hos. 6:6, Mic. 6:7-8,
Eccl. 5:1, Mk. 12:333, Heb. 10:6-9, Ps. 51:16-17.
2. REBELLION IS A TERRIBLE SIN
To rebel simply means to refuse to obey or resist authority or control.
The sin of rebellion is so terrible that it was likened to witchcraft in the
Bible. God hates a rebel.
I Sam. 15:23, Jn. 6:38, 8:47, I Sam. 12:14-15, Ps. 5:10-11, Prov.
17:11, Isa. 30:1, Ez. 20:38, Mic. 5:12, Ps. 78:8-11, Dan. 9:5-6, I
