TOPIC: Offering, Tithes, And First Fruits
OPENING PRAYER: Father, please bless your children and give them heart of giving.
PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: The leader should ask members some of
the godly ways to use information and communication technology.
MEMORY VERSE: “Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou
shalt find it after many days.” – Ecclesiastes 11:1 (KJV)
BIBLE TEXT: Malachi 3:8-11 (KJV)
8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say,
Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.
9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even
this whole nation.
10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there
may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts,
if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that
there shall not be room enough to receive it.
11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he
shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her
fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.
LESSON INTRODUCTION: Regular and faithful payment of tithes,
offerings and first fruits is mandatory because God commanded it. These are
God’s provisions to bless his sons and daughters.
LEADER’S DIARY
LESSON AIM: To remind members that their earthly obligation
involves payment of tithes, offerings and firstfruits.
TEACHING OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson members should
have.
Understanding on finical obligation attached to redemption
benefits.
Understanding of the dangers attached to faulting in yield
to this obligation.
TEXT REVIEW: MALACHI 3:8-11
Inability to yield to financial commitment as elect of God
leads to curse.
There are divine blessings attached to payment of tithes
offerings and firstfruits
Devourer has no access to your income when you didn’t
default in financial obligations.
TEACHING METHOD: use interactive method.
TIME MANAGEMENT: share the teaching time using the suggested
time schedule.
LESSON OUTLINE ONE: OFFERING
Offerings are gifts we offer to God willingly from our
hearts in appreciation for offering to be acceptable to God and to attract
God’s blessings,it most possibly be given.
Regularly: 1 cor 16:2
Cheerfully and willingly: 2 Cor.9:7, 2 Cor.8:12
Sacrificially:2 cor.8:3-4
Abundantly:2 cor.9:6
TITHES
Tithes is the tenth of all income, wages, profit, gifts etc
.God commanded payment of tithes Lev.27:30-32.
Abraham paid tithe and his seed which are must pay tithes.
Rom.4:11-12, Gal.3:29, Gen.14:18-20.
God commanded Israel to pay tithes. Lev.27:30-32,
Num.18:21-24.
Jesus commanded payment of tithes. Matt.23:23, Luke 18:12.
God commends his blessings on tithes.Mal 3:11
Non -payment of tithes attract curses.3:9.
Tithes should be paid in church/perish where you receive
spiritual nourishment
FIRSTFRUITS
First fruit are first fruit of increase Prov.9:3 (
difference between old and new salary), first fruit of sacrifice (first salary
in office or year January), Gen.22:15-18 and redemption of the first male
child.Ex.13:13
BENEFITS OF FIRST FRUITS ARE:
God promised to fill you with abundant and new
blessings.Prov.3:9-10.
God promised to bless your children Gen.25:15-18,
Gen.24:25-36.
God will fill you with material blessings 1kings 3:3-14.
ACTIVITY: Discuss the importance of financial commitment to
divine assignment.
SUMMARY: When you obey divine principles laid down you shall
surely prosper financially.
CONCLUSION: Our God says only what he will do-Num 23:19.He
will honuor his word to bless and protect us and our generations once we
obediently give our offerings, tithes and first fruits.
PRAYER POINTS
Lord , please help me to be diligent in the giving of my
offerings.
Lord, please help me to give my offerings with the heart of
appreciation.
Lord, please help the RCCG members to pay their tithes
fruitfully and with Joy.
Lord, please help me to present my first fruits to you
faithfully.
Lord, please honour your word in my life and bless me as I
faithfully give my offerings, and pay my tithes and first fruits.
GOLDEN DIET FOR WEEK
MONDAY: Malachi 3:10-12. Pray that as you pay your tithes
all the blessings pertaining to tithing shall be your portion this week.
TUESDAY: Act 20:35b, it is more blessed to give.
WEDNESDAY: Proverbs 3:9, father let me not experience lack
of any kind this year in Jesus name.
THURSDAY: Ask God for grace to always pay our tithes and
first fruits.
FRIDAY: Pray that every satanic teaching against tithing to
keep people in bondage be destroyed.
SATURDAY: There shall be showers of blessings.
SUNDAY: Obedient is better than sacrifice.
