THE CHOSEN OF THE LORD (4)

Text: Jonah 1: 5-16

INTRODUCTION:

In the last part of this series, we examined the power for fruitbearing

and the need to pass the baton of the gospel of peace to

our children.

Today, as we continue in our study, may the Lord bless us richly

through His word in Jesus Name.

1. FRUIT-BEARING ALSO INCLUDES SOME SPIRITUAL VIRTUES

Apart from the conversion of others to Christ, fruit-bearing also

includes such virtues as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness,

goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control etc. These are what

the Bible referred to as the “Fruits of the Spirit”.

Rom. 15:14, I Cor. 13:1-3, 4-8.

2. FRUIT-BEARING LEADS TO ANSWERED PRAYERS

One of the greatest secrets of answered prayers is constant and

regular fruit-bearing.

Jn. 15:16b, 16:23-24, 14:12-14, 15:54, I Jn. 2:6, Matt. 6:33, Acts

3:6, Jam. 5:16-18, I Jn. 3:22, Jam. 4:3.
