AFTER NOTHING BY PST O.O ABEL

 

SERMON TOPIC: AFTER NOTHING. 

A miracle is considered an event that occurs outside the bounds of natural law. During His ministry, Jesus performed more than 40 miracles including healing the sick, changing the natural elements of nature and even raising people from the dead.

Looking at the two bible passages we are considering for this sermon,

 Luke 5: 1-11

 1.And it came to pass, that, as the people pressed upon him to hear the word of God, he stood by the lake of Gennesaret,

2.And saw two ships standing by the lake: but the fishermen were gone out of them, and were washing their nets.

3.And he entered into one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down, and taught the people out of the ship.

4.Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.

5.And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

6.And when they had this done, they inclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.

7.And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink.

8.When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord.

9.For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:

10.And so was also James, and John, the sons of Zebedee, which were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon, Fear not; from henceforth thou shalt catch men.

11.And when they had brought their ships to land, they forsook all, and followed him.

and John 21:1 – 14

Luke 5:1-11 talks about Jesus ministering in teaching while on earth 

John 21: 1-14 talks about Jesus appearing to His disciples the third time after he was risen from death.

One thing that is common to these two different events is that

1. there was overnight toiling without a single catch, 

2. time wasted.

3. They were exhausted 

4. That they were washing their net means all hope lost

5. they’ve accepted faith of loose.

6. Jesus appeared 

WHEN JESUS APPEARED WHAT HAPPENED?

One common thing is that man must have exhaust all his or her abilities, do everything naturally. Don’t forget I told you, A miracle is considered an event that occurs outside the bounds of natural law.

So, when Jesus appeared nature bow, and its law suspended

Looking at the month of November in a year, its simply the second to the last month.

A month many people reach a conclusion that nothing can either change or happen again,

A month where all hope seems to have been lost.

A month the majority overlooked to talk about the new year.

A month most people conclude, nothing good can come out of the year again since they show no sign till Nov.

I have good news for you brethren, miracle can still happen, natural law can still be suspended for your good, but you have a part to play 

PLAY YOUR PART

You must be occupied.

 John 21:3“Simon Peter saith unto them, I go a fishing. They say unto him, We also go with thee. They went forth and entered into a ship immediately; and that night they caught nothing.”

You must be ready to Give towards His works 

Luke 5:3

“And he entered one of the ships, which was Simon's, and prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land. And he sat down and taught the people out of the ship.”

You must obey His instruction 

prayed him that he would thrust out a little from the land.

Luke 5:4

“Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.”

        Be in the same frequency with Jesus 

Luke 5:5

“And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.”

Jesus says Nets(plural) Simon says net(singular)

What is the result?

Great cash 

Lack to Sufficiency 

Beggar to giver 

Uncoverable blessings “they beacon to other fishermen to help them”

Becoming a source of blessing. 

Finally 

It does not matter what has happened since January to this November, it does not matter what happened since you were before to this day 

It does not matter how long you suddenly or gradually found yourself in these situations the good news is that miracle can still happen.

Do not forget that the food that is meant for children cant be given to dogs 

Give your life to Jesus a life without Christ will be filled with crisis .
