Sermon
for cross over
Topic: On
the other side.
What do
you want to go and do on the other side? you want to confront and conquer?
Matthew
14:22-36
Introduction
Cross overnight is a night
that everyone always eagerly prepared for around the world, before I got
exposed to several parts of the word, I used to think that everyone regardless
of the religion or belief will always be in a place of prayer come Dec 31 till
past 12am which will be January first. lo and behold that was a wrong
assumption.
Let’s see some of the places
people will possibly cross over.
Many cities throughout the
world go all-out to celebrate this exciting night. Fireworks, concerts, countdowns,
and ball drops are usually among the many festivities. Some of the best cities
to celebrate include New York City, Sydney, Bangkok, Dubai, Cape Town, London,
and Las Vegas.
Ø In Spain they will eat 12 grapes during
countdown to midnight which symbolizes hope.
Ø Roman catholic will honor virgin Mary.
Ø The one that scared me most is the confession
of a brother, he said pastor I have a friend that do cross over with liquor
(alcohol) he said by the time its 12 am everyone must have be knocked out ,
they must have be drunk to stupor by I don’t do that , so I asked so how do you
do your own cross over, he said he must be on top of a woman either girlfriend
or sugar mummy .
At that point I understood
why his life was the way it was.
I congratulate you that you
are in the presence of God.
On the other side!
What is happening on the
other side?
What do you want to go and
do on the other side?
These and many more are
questions you need to ask yourself during crossover programs like this.
Tonight, I want
to tell you that we are going to the other side to confront and conquer.
I do not know those
situations that conquered you in previous years, but as you cross over now, you
are going to conquer them.
Peter would have been the
second person in history to have walked on water if he had confronted and
conquered the spirit of fear.
Numbers 13:30
“And Caleb stilled the
people before Moses, and said, let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are
well able to overcome it.”
Let’s go to the other side
to confront and conquer:
Shame (Isaiah 54:4
“Fear not; for thou shalt
not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame:
for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the
reproach of thy widowhood anymore.”)
Poverty ((Proverbs 19:17
“He that hath pity upon the
poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him
again.”)
Backwardness
Fear of trying a new
business which is fear of failure, anyone who nurse fear of failure will not
progress. (Job 14:7
“For there is hope of a
tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch
thereof will not cease.”)
Fear of trying a new
relationship due to heart brokenness
Demotion
Sickness
Impossibilities (Matthew 19:26
“But Jesus beheld them, and
said unto them, with men this is impossible; but with God all things are
possible.”)
CALL TO ALTER
You can’t cross alone.
John 5:30
“I can of mine own self do
nothing: as I hear, I judge and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine
own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.”
You need the way himself: John
14:6
(“Jesus saith unto him, I am
the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”)
If you have not given your
life to Jesus, come out now is the time, so you can cross successfully.
You need to
give your life to Jesus, so you won’t sink.
If you have
given your life to Jesus, I say congratulations, but if you have not, I want
you to say these:
Lord Jesus, I
have come to you as a sinner.
Please accept
me and forgive me for all my sins.
I surrender
my life to you from now and I accept you as my personal Lord and savior.
In Jesus
name I pray.
I congratulate
you kindly visit a living church and join the children of God for growth in the
Lord Jesus.
Shout three powerful
halleluiah .
