OVERCOMER
Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
WHO ARE THE OVERCOMES?
The stubborn ones
The determined ones
The rugged ones
The ones that keeps going when the going is getting tough
The ones who can endure to the end
They are victorious ones
They are the accomplished ones
They are winners.
They are the ones described in Matthew 21:13.
If you are seen yourself as an overcomer shout Hallelujah.
Pray this prayer. You sleeping spirit of overcomer in me , wake up now in the name of Jesus .
Each time I think of what Jesus went through I conclude, to be an over comer is not a child play .
Like I do tell everyone, no one is interested in celebrating a loser
JESUS AS A TYPICAL EXAMPLE OF OVERCOMER
Jesus faced , endured and overcame the following:
1. No recognition (John sent messenger to ask if He was the messiah)
2. False accusations (they lied on him before Pilate Matthew 27)
3. Insulted, ridicule and embarrassment
4. Rejection ( His people rejected him )
Many of us today on our journey in life are facing all this things that Jesus face, if truly you want to overcome academically, financially, materially and marital you must not allow yourself to be distracted by any of these things .
The aspect I am dwelling on today is Revelation 3:5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.---
Celebration of OVERCOMER
Before any one can be celebrated as an overcomer, he or she must have genuinely overcome some trials or temptations in life .
Temptation:
Temptation to steal.
Temptation to join cyber crime groups called Yahoo.
Temptation to remain a perpetual liar.
Temptation to keep backbiting.
Temptation to remain a perpetual fornicator and adulterer.
Temptation to keep blackmailing people.
Temptation to keep been lazy and continue to complain about bad government.
CELEBRATION OF OVERCOMERS
Whose evangelistic spirit is not discouraged by others nonchalant attitude towards the spreading gospel.
Example: Gone are the days where Christians enjoyed going from one place to the other telling people about Jesus, winning souls for christ.
It’s quits unfortunate that we do not have time to win souls for Christ anymore rather we indulge in denominational members snatching methods.
CAC will tell members of RCCG they are not praying well so he/she should come and join CAC, Deeper life will tell Mount Perazim you can’t say come as you are you must put on a particular Cape before God will attend to you.
This is what majority of Christians are busy doing instead of winning souls for Christ, may God help us.
Celebration of those who will go back to prayer group days bringing out those functional qualities and infusing them into today social media generation and have a huge prayer band for the church.
Celebration of those who will not plan to steal from church but rather put their money and materials into it.
Example: some years back I went to buy some electronics equipment for the church I paid the seller who was to issue the receipt, then he asked me how much he should write as the price on the receipt? I was shocked I said how much do I give you? He continued; do you mean you don’t want to add to it? I said no please. He shouted Ahhhh ! pastor don’t dull yourself oooo. So many pastors, minister and members coming to buy things for church usually tell us to add money oooo. Even the G.O’s will add money and go back to collect it from the church committee. What a shame?
Revelation 3: 5 called those who will not do these evil acts, an overcome and they will be celebrated.
HEAVEN AND HELL EXIST
Heaven and hell are real they are not fictioneer both depict everlasting joy and sorrow.
Before I became international, I always asking myself how possible it is to have a street described in Revelation 21:9-21 I was thinking it was just an illustration and abstract that cannot be achieved, but brethren I can categorically tell you that it’s been achieved here on earth talk less of how greater and more beautiful God is going to achieve his own in Heaven.
Make a decision today to be an overcomer, decide to be great ,work and pray towards greatness , hate poverty perfectly finally make you clothes a white raiment.
