The Healing Balm Of God

By Pastor John

Good morning and happy Sunday to everyone.
I give glory to Almighty God for the grace He had given to us all to witness this wonderful and Blessed Sunday. I pray that if Jesus tarry’s we will all witness many more in Jesus name. Amen.

Texts. : Jeremiah. 8: 14-22

Introduction : What is the healing balm of God? Before I explain this, let me quickly explain the
meaning of balm. Balm is an oil or ointment with a fragrance that is usually obtained from some type of
trees or plant, mostly used for healing wounds, pain relief, body softer etc. Now back to the formal
question, what is healing balm of God? The healing balm of God is the Divine Supernatural force or
power that comes from His presence whenever we seek His face and worship Him whole heatedly,
declare His word with faith, call upon His name in prayers, which enhances both spiritual and physical
healing. (Psalms. 107:20)

How to make His power of healing work for us in a time like this?

1. Seeking Him with a true repentant heart. Our God is a loving and caring God, His mercy and
loving kindness reigns forever. He is ever ready to forgive and accept us whenever will realize
our sins and truly repented of them. (Psalms.34:4) says “ I sought the Lord, and He heard me,
and delivered me from all my fears”. Only seeking God sincerely with an humble heart and
prayers is the first important thing that can activate His healing power for us in a time like this.
2Chronicles.7:14.

2. Obedient to Him is not negotiable, I mean total obedient to all His commandments. Obedient
to God renews our relationship with Him and brings His presence to abide with us, by so doing
we become victorious over any challenges that comes to our ways. (Psalm. 16:11) says, “You
make it known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal
pleasures at your right hand. (NIV). Also obedient to God will bring about the fulfillment of all
His promises for protection, sound-health and healing, provisions ,financial breakthrough etc. in
our lives. Therefore, obedient to Him is inevitable if we really desire healing and recovery,
especially in a time like this. Exodus. 15:26.

3. Do Not Relent in your prayers. The bible says “The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man
availed much”. (James. 5:16b). Brethren, we need prayer now than ever before. Apostle Paul
counseled us in (1Thess.5:17) that we should, ‘Pray without ceasing’. It means, we should pray
until something happens and change things to better for us. Therefore people of God, let us
continue to call upon Him in prayers, He will surely answer us as He promised in Jer. 33:3a
which says, “ call upon me, I will answer thee”, also Psalm.50:15 says, “Call upon me in the
day of trouble: I will deliver thee and thou shalt glorify me”. Prayer is also in a time like this!

Conclusion : Brethren, this is not the time to entertain fear or panic but to have absolute trust in God. He promised “He will never fail nor forsake us”. All we need to do, is to retrace our footsteps back to where we have missed it and do the needful. By correcting our errors and mistakes and sincerely ask Him for forgiveness. He hear our sincere prayers and He will send His power of healing (The healing balm of God) to heal us and our land again.

I pray the grace and power to sincerely seek Him, the Lord we grant unto us in Jesus name. Amen.
Remain bless and stay safe!

EASTER SUNDAY SERMON

By Bro . Peters Owolabi

Topic: Victory in Jesus
Sermon Text: I Corinthians 15:35-57

I welcome you all to today’s service which happens to be Youth Sunday. Due to the pandemic ravaging our world, I believe our General Overseer has taken a step in the right direction to ensuring we are still awakened to spiritual activities.
It is no doubt that a lot of spiritual souls will die during this inadvertent holiday from almost every spheres of life activities.
But as true Christians, we must understand that these are merely signs of the end time hurriedly approaching. Please note – this is not the Rapture as some ignorant Christians have been rumoring about.

This is Easter and we shall be talking about Resurrection of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
Without death there can be no resurrection.
We see people joking about death. But there comes a time when death is not a laughing matter.
When death threatens someone you love, or when it threatens you... nobody laughs. That's because death can be a scary thing. In fact, Hebrews 2:15 tells us about people “... who through fear of death were subject to lifelong slavery.”

A seed has got to die before it reawakens to a life of fruitfulness. For us to be completely ready to be part of the kingdom of heaven, we must leave behind our earthly cloak (which means we must die someday, sometime, somewhere) and put on the spiritual body. Our activities here on earth will now be the determining factor as to whether we will put on the spiritual body that leads to Eternal Life of Joyous Activities after death or Eternal Suffering after death.

You see, we were created in the image of God. We were never made to die. It's not normal, it's not fair.  It's not the way things should be.

But things are like that now, we will all die... and unless we have the hope of resurrection death will continue to be terrifying and devastating.

True Christians should have strong believe in the death of Christ – that His death has taken away the
sting of death and the victory of the grave as it can be seen in I Corinthians 15:55.
Moving forward on this, we can see in verse 56 that the sting of death is sin....

Therefore, Christians must be spiritually conscious at all times to run away from sin and understand
the need to abstain completely from sin to keep hope of eternity alive till Christ come for us all.

In conclusion, if Christ had not risen, there would have been no celebration. Let us therefore rejoice and celebrate the death and the rising of Christ in total humility and sobriety. Let us in our various homes celebrate Him as we also observe the #StayHome #StaySafe the government has instructed us.

This is but a phase and it shall pass soon. Happy Easter to Us All. God Bless!
